Obedience

Obedience to God isn't optional for Christians. It's not extra credit. It's the entire point of the faith walk.

God Wants All of You

"If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple." — Luke 14:26

God doesn't want part of your life. He wants all of it.

Most people treat Christianity like a checkbox:

  • Church on Sunday? Check.
  • Say grace before meals? Check.
  • Don't murder anyone? Check.

But that's not Christianity. That's lukewarm religion that Jesus said He would spit out of His mouth.

Obedience Is the Point

When you truly understand that the Creator of the universe has a specific will for your life—not just general moral guidelines but an actual, detailed plan for what He created you and only you to do—everything changes:

  • Your career isn't just about making money
  • Your talents aren't just for your enjoyment
  • Your relationships aren't just about your happiness

Everything becomes about advancing His Kingdom.

Why Obedience Matters

The key to accessing supernatural power is complete, radical, unwavering obedience to God.

Apostle Delmar's level of obedience is what led God to anoint him with the ability to raise people from the dead. The miracles flowing through his ministry are directly connected to his 42 years of faithful obedience.

"And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him." — Acts 5:32

The Holy Spirit is given to those who obey.

The Cost of Obedience

This truth is uncomfortable. It means:

  • You can't just follow your heart—"The heart is deceitful above all things" (Jeremiah 17:9)
  • You can't just do what feels right—"There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death" (Proverbs 14:12)
  • Your friendships might shift
  • Your career path might pivot
  • Your priorities will definitely transform

Severing Ties with the World

Obedience requires separation from the world:

"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him." — 1 John 2:15

"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind." — Romans 12:2

This involves:

  • Your social circles
  • Your work life
  • Your entertainment
  • Your digital diet
  • Your reading and media consumption

The Narrow Path

"Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." — Matthew 7:13-14

The narrow path is shockingly narrow, and it costs you almost everything you thought you wanted.

What You Gain

But obedience brings:

  • Intimacy with the living God
  • Supernatural authority
  • Purpose that transcends circumstances
  • Peace that passes understanding
  • Power to heal, deliver, and transform lives
  • A life that matters for eternity

"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." — Matthew 6:33
